Janice Walker Scott

Janice B. (Jonnie) Walker Scott, 83, wife of the late Julien A. Scott and the late George Walker, Jr. and a resident of Bayford, VA, passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, February 25, 2018. A native of Nassawadox, VA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ennis Bonniwell and the late Beatrice Tilghman Bonniwell. She was a retired secretary and office nurse for General Surgical Group and member of Franktown United Methodist Church. She had a lifelong love for animals and was an avid reader. She was loved by all who knew her and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by six children, Debra Walker (Stuart Kaplan); Chris Walker(Debi); Jay Scott (Mitzi); Pam Raitch (Ted); Brad Scott (Teri); and David Scott (Terri); ten grandchildren, Lynn Brankley (Luke); Allison Seal (Brian); Ashleigh DeHaven (Kevin); Morgan Raitch; Julien Scott, IV; Joseph Scott; Carley Scott; Derek Scott; Kelsie Scott; and Jordan Scott; four great-grandchildren, Landon and Kirby Brankley; and Emma and Colby Seal; and a sister-in-law, Anna Dean Bonniwell. She was predeceased by a brother, Jay Bonniwell; a brother-in-law, Bobby Walker; and a sister-in-law, Sallie Scott.

A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Judith Worthington officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SPCA Eastern Shore, Inc., P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418; Friends of Northampton Free Library, P.O. Box 639, Nassawadox, VA 23413; or to a charity of one's choice.
