Janet Ebersole

November 20, 1921 — March 30, 2014

Janet Schopf Ebersole, 92, wife of the late Walter K. Ebersole and a 60-yr resident of Bellport, NY, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. Born in Lancaster County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul F. Schopf and the late Pauline Yentzer Schopf. A graduate of Lebanon Valley College, where she was Miss Quittapahilla of 1943, she was the organist and choir director for the Bellport United Methodist Church for 30 years. Together, Janet and Walter Ebersole were active in developing musical activity, with wide community participation, in greater Bellport. Friends will also remember Janet's devotion to weekly meetings for exchanging news and playing bridge. She is survived by three children, John P. Ebersole of Natick, MA, Ann Ebersole Terry (wife of Pete Terry) of Willis Wharf, VA, and David Ebersole of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, John's son Jay Ebersole , Ann's daughters Heather Terry Lusk (wife of Roland Lusk) and Laura Terry Annon, and David's sons Dylan Walter Ebersole and Derek Lawrence Ebersole; and three great grandchildren, Tyler Tate Annon, Lela Lusk, and Wescott Bowdoin Lusk. A celebration-of-life service will be held in Bellport in late May.
