Jane Cutler Doughty

Jane Cutler Doughty, 87, wife of the late Archie Sidney Doughty, Jr. and a resident of Quinby, VA, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Cecil Cutler and the late Stella Lee Byrd Cutler. She was a homemaker and will be remembered for her love of cooking for others, many who looked forward each year to her gifts at Christmas of cookies and her famous cheese balls and crab cakes. She was a member of the "Eastern Star" and Smith Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret D. Porterfield and her companion, John Lyon, of Fairfax Station, VA; grandson, Stephen W. Porterfield of Melfa, VA; one sister, Fannie Miles of Salisbury, MD and two half-sisters, Kay Moore of Exmore, VA and Nancy Morris and her husband, Bill, of York, PA.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Quinby Cemetery with Pastors Steve and Donna Doan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Intrepid Hospice Care, Post Office Box 770, Onley, VA 23418.
