James David Stern, Jr.

James David Stern, Jr., 68, husband of Nancy Norris Stern and a resident of Belle Haven, VA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family Saturday, September 21, 2013. A native of Yardley, PA, he was the son of the late James David Stern, Sr. and the late Edythe Overbeck Stern. After moving to the Eastern Shore he was employed by Zieger & Sons for thirteen years and then he was Manager of The Robert S. Bloxom Eastern Shore Agricultural Complex until his recent retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and proudly served as volunteer coordinator of The Eastern Shore Hunter Safety Education Program. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Susanne Stern Kirsch and her husband, Dan, of Middletown, DE, James David Stern III of Willis Wharf, VA, Jason Grant Stern and his wife, Susan, of Keller, VA, Jennifer Jeanne Stern of Suffolk, VA, Jeana Lee Stern and Ryan Horner of Exmore, VA; a sister, Linda Stern Feinstein and her husband, Marc, of Newtown, PA; nine grandchildren, Zachary Kirsch, Adam Kirsch, John Kirsch, Walker Stern, Parker Stern, Akeely Stern, Trinity Stern, Liam Stern, Mason Horner; a sister in law, Sue Norris Speakman and her husband, Tom, of Still Pond, MD; two brothers in law, Howard Keith Norris and his wife, Kathy, of Zeeland, MI, Robert Eames of Pungoteague, VA ; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Stern Eames. A celebration of life service will be conducted Friday, September 27, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Franktown United Methodist Church with Reverend Alex Joyner officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market Street, Suite #3, Onancock, VA 23417 or to Eastern Shore Rural Health System Dental Program, P.O.
