Tommy Savage

November 22, 1929 — May 26, 2024

James Thomas Savage, 94, husband of the late Malvina Hancock Savage died May 26, 2024 at his residence.  A native of the Eastern Shore, he was the son of the late George Jacob Savage, Sr. and the late Adelaide Wise Savage.

Tommy graduated with a BA from the University of Virgina in 1951 and remained an avid supporter and sports fan of the University. After a term in the United States Army he attended and graduated from the Pharmacy School at the Medical College of Virginia. He returned to Cape Charles where he practiced pharmacy with his father and his brother at Savage's Drug Store until his retirement. Tommy was one of the founders of Broadwater Academy and served on many boards throughout his life.

He leaves behind his loving daughters Elizabeth Savage Goffigon; her husband Kemper, Caroline Savage and his granddaughters Caroline Cooke Goffigon; her husband Greg, Staige Goffigon Sturgis; her husband Jarrett and great grandson Lane Davis Sturgis. Tommy cherished his family and his many friends.

He is survived by his brother George Jacob Savage, Jr. and his family. He was predeceased by his sister, Rosa May Meade.

The service will be private. The family invites friends to join them at his home, Bellevue Point on  Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 12 noon for a casual outdoor celebration of his life.
