James Henry Northam

James Henry Northam, 84, husband of the late Margaret Raynor Northam and a resident of Newport News, VA, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at his residence. A native of Willis Wharf, VA, he was the son of the late James H. Northam and the late Blanche Salden Northam. He was a retired insurance salesman and former employee of Quest Diagnostics.
He is survived by two sons, Robert W. Northam and his wife, Norma, of Newport News, William James Northam and his wife, Pauletta, of Seymour, IN; a brother, Robert W. Jerles of Winchester, VA; a special companion, Joyce Smith of Newport News and his dog, Chi Chi. He was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Earl Northam.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Reverend Jack D. Pruitt officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, 41 Old Oyster Point Road, Suite D, Newport News, VA 23602.
