James Milton Fitchett, Jr.

James Milton Fitchett, Jr., 85, husband of Norma Justis Fitchett and a resident of Willis Wharf, VA, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at his residence. A native of Birdsnest, VA, he was the son of the late James Milton Fitchett, Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Isdell Fitchett. He was a retired L.P. Gas Technician for Pargas and Suburban Propane and a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Karen Barnes of Exmore, VA; a sister, Barbara Allen Johnson of Painter, VA; three brothers, Thomas Fitchett of Sanford, VA, Robert Duke Fitchett of Parksley, VA, Woodrow "Sonny" Fitchett of Exmore; five grandchildren, Jason Fitchett, Tracey Fitchett, Alisa Bagwell, Sherri Kellam Scanlan, Angel McGlown; 19 great grandchildren, including Brandalyn Barnes, Merranda Barnes, Ronald Barnes, Jr., Gage Fitchett, Chase Fitchett and numerous great-great grandchildren, including his darling Braleigh Green, Vaden Green, Noah Matthew James and Kinsley Barnes. He was predeceased by three children, Florence Marie Armentrout, Norma Jean Bew, Richard Wayne Fitchett; a sister, Isabelle Fitchett Smith; a grandson, J.C. Kellam and a great granddaughter, Monica Lee Bagwell. A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Red Bank Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jack D. Pruitt officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market Street, Suite #3, Onancock, VA 23417.
