Jack Sturgis

Stewart E. Sturgis, III, better known as Jack, 82, husband of Margaret Jane Sturgis and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Pungoteague, VA, he was the son of the late Stewart E. Sturgis, Jr. and the late Marian Fletcher Sturgis. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia, retired from The Pentagon finance department and owner of Exmore Farm Market.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Ronald G. Dimsey of Exmore, Calvin J. Dimsey of Exmore; two sisters, Ann Bruner of Graham, NC, and Marilyn Loftis and her husband, Gary, of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother, Gordon Sturgis and his wife, Faye, of Exmore and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Glen Sturgis and Bobby Sturgis.

A private family service will be held at the Sturgis family farm in Pungoteague at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Shore Hospice, P. O. Box 615, Onley, VA 23418.
