J. Fred Reidel

J. Fred Reidel, 65, husband of Ruth D. Reidel for 48 years, affectionately known as honorary mayor of Red Bank and a resident of Red Bank, VA, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at his residence. A native of York, PA, he was the son of Virginia Shull Geubtner of Penn Yan, NY and the late John W. Reidel. Mr. Reidel retired from Caterpillar Tractor after thirty-three years of service, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in York, a retired member of U.A.W #786, member of N.R.A., and a lifetime member of the 12th Ward Democratic Club. Other than his wife, he is survived by one son, Michael T. Reidel and his wife, Robin, of Windsor, PA; one sister, Lynn Reidel of Branchport, NY; three granddaughters, Ilona, Taylor, and Michelle; one sister-in-law, Susan Reidel and her companion, Henry Hudson, of Wrightsville, PA ; one brother-in-law, John Kissinger and his wife, Diane, of York, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Clark Reidel. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Bayford Boat Ramp with Reverend Clarence Bowen officiating.
