J. Grayson Duer

J. Grayson Duer, 89, husband of Martha Jones Duer and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. A native of Exmore, he was the son of the late Maurice James Duer and the late Alberta Gladstone Duer. He was a retired produce broker and past president of M. J. Duer Company. Mr. Duer was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, past Master of Broadwater Masonic Lodge #71 AF & AM, past member and vice mayor of the Exmore Town Council, and founding board member of Broadwater Academy. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Charlotte D. Fields and her husband Michael of Fredericksburg, VA, Robert G. Duer of Exmore, and George E. Duer and his wife Jo Ann of Shelbyville, KY; a sister, Carolyn D. Pennell of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Patrick Fields, Shanna Ford and Abigail Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Grayson Ford and Lucas Tyler. He was predeceased by two brothers, M. J. Duer Jr. and Houston C. Duer. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev.
