Irma Custis Dix, 97, of Exmore, Va., passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013. Born on March 10, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Custis. Irma was a devoted and loving mother and wife and a faithful member of Craddockville United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women's Ministry. After retiring as a beautician, she spent her time reading and enjoying the company of her two great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as as a loyal friend and a gifted storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon W. Dix, Sr., sisters Pamela Brockwell and Rosa Mae Boone and son Gordon W. Dix, Jr. She is survived by her sisters Annette Widgeon and Elizabeth Campbell, granddaughter Rebecca C. Cox, grandson Reuben A. Garrison, great granddaughter Grace E. Cox and great grandson Noah M. Cox. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Doughty Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery.
