Irene Sparrow Hendrie

Irene Virginia Sparrow Hendrie, age 88 passed away, January 5th, 2011. Born in Exmore, VA, she was raised in Belle Haven, VA where she attended Central High School. Irene lived her adult life in NJ, between Pennsauken, Cherry Hill & Medford. She worked in the business dept. of Camden Beer and was also a business manager at Jersey National Liquor Co. Wife of the late Ferguson Hendrie of 27 years, she is survived by grand nephews, Nicholas Godsey (Ann) of Wenonah, NJ, Barry Godsey (Sue) of Grays Lake, IL & John Godsey (Robin) of Greensboro, NC & their children. Irene was also predeceased by her sister Louise Bodine (Robert) of Painter, VA, her nephew Christopher Godsey (Judy) of Moorestown, NJ, whom she raised and her grand nephews, Lee Godsey & George Godsey (Debra). A graveside memorial service will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, May 28, 2011 in Belle Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Irene's name to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053 or to the Alzheimer's Association of Delaware Valley Chapter, 3 Eves Drive, Evesham Twp., NJ 08053.
