Herbert G. White, Sr.

Mr. Herbert G. White, Sr., 78, beloved husband of Lenora West White for 57 years and a resident of Belle Haven, passed away Friday, December 29, 2006 at Sentara Norfolk General Heart Center. A native of Quinby, he was the son of the late Ronald B. White and the late Margaret Leona Wallace White. He was a member of the Belle Haven United Methodist Church and Exmore Moose Lodge #683. He was a retired police officer from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel District and a United States Coast Guard Veteran. Other than his wife, he is survived by two children, Herbert G. "Bert" White, Jr. and his wife Carol of Greeley, Co., and Peggy White Belote and her husband Jay of Exmore, Va.; four grandchildren, Crystal L. White of Newport News, Va., Herbert G. White, III and his wife Kim of Virginia Beach, Va., Autumn P. Sinclair and her husband Chad of Rota, Spain, and Myles G. Belote of Exmore,Va.; a great granddaughter, Savannah Paige Sinclair of Rota, Spain; six cousins, Nina Lee Bundick of Quinby, Va., Margaret G. Grinnalds of Onley, Va., Oswald L. Bonney of Cary, N.C., Richard G. Bonney of Manassas, Va., Lloyd Wallace of Quinby, Va., and Nancy L. Johnson of Deltona, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the Belle Haven United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Schoeman, Rev. Jack D. Pruitt and Mr. Kemmie Dize officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home Monday evening from 7 to 8:30.
