Herbert John Konrad, Jr., 81, a resident of Cape Charles, VA, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at his residence. A native of Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Herbert John Konrad, Sr. and the late Anna Dillon Konrad. He was a graduate of Villanova University, president of Allegheny York Co. and Golden Brew Distributing Co., a member of Hawks Gunning Club, V.F.W. of Hellam, PA, Regents Glen Country Club and the American Legion Post #56.
He is survived by a devoted friend, Judith Watkins of Cape Charles; three children, Kathleen Konrad of Beaver Dam, VA, Herbert J. Konrad III and his wife, Robin, of York, PA, Robert Konrad of Dover, PA; two sisters, Barbara Lindner of Old Saybrook, CT, Arlene Frank of Deep River, CT and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel Konrad and his wife, Peggy Ann Konrad.
A celebration of life service with American Legion Honors will be conducted Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the American Legion Post #56 with Father J. Michael Breslin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Legion Post #56, Post Office Box 357, Cheriton, VA 23316.
