Helena Beyersdorfer Savage

Helena B. Savage, 75, wife of Robert Savage and a resident of Nanticoke Acres, Seaford, DE, and Sunset Beach, NC, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. A native of Passaic, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Edward W. Beyersdorfer and the late Helen K. Beyersdorfer. When her children were young she worked as a teacher's aide at Seaford Elementary School. Later she worked at Community Action in Georgetown, DE, and also as Director of the Homeless Shelter in Georgetown. She and her husband traveled to all forty-nine states in their R.V., but her favorite time was spent with family and friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Richard P. Savage of Shallotte, NC, George B. Savage of Seaford; a brother, Edward Beyersdorfer of Exmore, VA; and a granddaughter, Casey Leigh Savage of Shallotte. She was predeceased by a son, William E. Savage. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Alex Joyner officiating.
