Gilmer A. Brown

Gilmer A. Brown, 88, husband of Mellie Cottle Brown and a resident of Cape Charles, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at his residence. A native of Dalbys, VA, he was the son of the late William H. Brown and the late Julia Ward Brown. He was a retired purchasing agent for the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He was a member of Holmes Presbyterian Church. Other than his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Julia Brown Jenkins of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; a brother, Richard Brown and his wife Lorraine of Suffolk, Va.; and a nephew, Donald R. Brown of Suffolk, Va. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Capeville Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. J. Allen Johnson officiating.
