Gerald Richard Doughty, 54, better known as Rick, husband of Janet Lynn Doughty and a resident of Modest Town, VA passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD. A native of Melfa, VA, Rick was the son of Vonda Kilmon Doughty of Melfa and the late Burleigh Scott Doughty. He was a self employed car dealer and member of the Parksley Baptist Church. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three children, John Ross Doughty of Modest Town, Joshua Richard Doughty and his wife, Shadia, of Honolulu, HI, B.J. Richardson of Pungoteague, VA; two grandchildren, Hazel and Trenton; two brothers, Jeff Doughty and his wife, Connie, of Melfa, Scott Doughty and his wife, Joan, of Onley, VA; an aunt, Edith Doughty of Exmore, VA; 11 nieces and nephews. Anna Doughty, Jeff Doughty and his wife, Kelly, Jesse Doughty and his wife, Anne Kyle, Suri Byrd Doughty, Matt Minton and his wife, Jessica, Amanda Mirinov and her husband, Miro, Riya Mirinov, Kaleb Mirinov, Jordan McCann, Dustin Wessells, Trevor Wessells; a mother-in-law, Peggy McCann of Accomac, VA; one brother-in-law, Ronald McCann and his wife, Brenda; one sister-in-law, Shannon Wessells and her husband, Todd, and his beloved dog, Mack. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with Pastor Robert Boyce officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 7 to 8:30.
