Georgie Mae Drummond Taylor, 63, wife of Samuel T. Taylor III and a resident of Craddockville, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Shore Memorial Hospital after a 7 1/2 year battle with metastatic breast cancer. A native of Craddockville, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Harry W. Drummond and the late Dorothy Turner Drummond Dail. She was a member of Craddockville United Methodist Church, past president of Debedeavon Garden Club, a United Methodist Women area leader of 20 years, Shore Antique Show decorating co-chairman, member of Red Hats, volunteered many hours for the food bank, and best known for her involvement with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. She was instrumental in forming the Eastern Shore Breast Cancer support group. She enjoyed her friends, cousins, school mates, and loving pets, as well as working in her garden. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by two loving children, a daughter, Dorothy T. Tadder and her husband Mark of Virginia Beach, VA and a son, Turner Mapp Taylor and his wife Angie of Quinby, VA, and a son, Samuel T. Taylor IV of Craddockville, VA; a sister, Jo Sue Parker and her husband Bob of Craddockville, 8 grandchildren; and her step father Archie Dail. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the graveside of Belle Haven Cemetery with the Pastor Joe McKnight officiating.
