Georgie Smullin Peppler

Georgie Smullin Peppler, 77, wife of the late Fritz Peppler and a resident of Exmore, passed away Friday, November 26, 2010 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. A native of Franktown, she was the daughter of the late Marion Francis and Sarah Thompson Smullin. She was a retired certified nursing assistant and a member of the Onancock Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Exmore Women of the Moose. Survivors include three children, Linda Powell and her husband James of Belle Haven, VA, Wayne Sturgis of Jamesville, VA, Brad Sturgis and his wife Theresa of Warsaw, VA; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; one sister, Bertha S. Dunton of Marionville, VA, and one brother, Willie Smullin and his wife Ella Mae of Bloxom, VA. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ann Smith. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Doughty Funeral Home, with the Rev. L. Raymond McGarr officiating. Interment will follow in the Wachapreague Cemetery. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
