George Clarence Rowe, Jr., better known as G.C., 82, husband of the late Lois Gaskins Rowe and a resident of Exmore, passed away at Shore Memorial Hospital Friday, June 1, 2007. A native of Willis Wharf, he was the son of the late George C. Rowe and the late Lillie Birch Rowe. Mr. Rowe was retired owner of Rowe's Barber Shop, a 60 year member and Past Master of Broadwater Masonic Lodge # 71 AF&AM, and Past Worthy Patron of Mildred Stephenson Chapter #117 O.E.S., and a member of Belle Haven United Methodist Church. Mr. Rowe is survived by a brother, Gilbert E. Rowe of Camden, De.; a niece, Karen Quillen of Chincoteague, Va.; a great niece, Louise Chesser and her husband Chad of Chincoteague; a great nephew, Cole Chesser of Chincoteague; a sister-in-law, Evelyn G. Plummer of Exmore, Va.; and numerous friends of Virginia Landing, Exmore, and Chincoteague. Mr. Rowe was predeceased by a son, Allen D. Rowe. Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at Belle Haven Cemetery Sunday, June 3rd at 3:30 PM with Mr. Kemmie Dize officiating.
