George Francis Roff, 95, of Concord Wharf, Virginia, formerly of Head of the Harbor, NY, passed away December 20, 2008. His wife of over 74 years, Edna, passed away on November 30, 2008. George was employed by the Neptune Meter Company for over 40 years. During World War II, he served as a medic. In his retirement years, he volunteered as a Program Guide and was also employed as Head of Security for the Stony Brook Museum on Long Island, NY. He served as Deacon for the Red Bank Baptist Church of Marionville, VA. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Louise Schwegerl and her husband Adam of Concord Wharf, Linda Louise Daugherty and her husband Donald of Louisville, KY, Georgann Frances Viscome and her husband Michael of Fulton, NY, and two nephews, Frank Roff and his wife Nancy of Lawrenceville, NJ, and Harold Roff and his wife Valerie of Whitestone, NY. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 23rd at 2:00 p.m. from the Red Bank Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. William Nieporte and Rev. Patricia Kellam officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Bank Baptist Church Cemetery.
