Freddie Mae Masingill, 91, of Exmore, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009. She was born in West Point Mississippi on August 1, 1918 to Fred Bell Stephens and Dovie Coggins. She was married to Elmer Wilburn Masingill for 66 years and together they lived in Louisiana, NFLD and Delaware before splitting retirement between Chincoteague VA, and Zephyrhills FL. She enjoyed fishing, clamming, traveling, cruises, painting, crafts, sewing and dancing, and was an excellent card player.With her husband, she was a charter member of the First Christian Church of Bossier City Louisiana where she played the piano, acted as youth leader and was active in the CWF. At her death she was a member of the FCS of Zephyrhills FL. Freddie is survived by 2 children, a son, James Wilburn Masingill and his wife Cleo Masingill of Buena Park CA and a daughter, Linda Joyce Barlow and her husband Louis Alan Barlow of Machipongo VA. She had 4 grandchildren; Nina Lynn Carty of Fort Worth , TX, Jennifer Lynn Boutiette of Rotunda, FL, Danielle Mosher of Onley, VA, and Shannon Rhae Barlow of Lakeland, FL. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Amanda Cristina Dillmann, Nicholas Tyler Mosher, Robin Elizabeth Mosher, Kylie Raine Barlow and Arianna Lynn Boutiette, and one adopted grandchild Ashley Nicole Freeman. She was predeceased by her brother, John Cicero Stephens. Freddie: wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother will be missed by all of her family, but we take solace in knowing that she is in heaven ushering in her 6th great-grandchild Zoë, who will be joining the family within the week. A memorial service will be held at Johnsons United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 29th at 11am with a reception following in the social hall. The Rev. Clarence Bowen will officiate.
