Frances Isdell Thackeray

Frances Isdell Thackeray, 89, wife of the late Ira F. Thackeray and a resident of Quinby, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Shore Lifecare in Parksley. A native of Wachapreague, she was the daughter of the late Samuel H. Isdell, Sr. and Katherine Spence Isdell. Mrs. Thackeray was a retired nurse and member of the Hollies Baptist Church. She served as treasurer for the AARP Local 422 and volunteered at Shore Memorial Hospital and Eastern Shore Hospice and Palliative Care. Survivors include a sister, Ruth Horton and her husband H.B. of Inwood, West Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Susie Fluhart, Mary Baull, and Hattie Kellam; and three brothers, Samuel Isdell, Jr., Cecil J. Isdell, and Roy David Isdell. Funeral services will be held graveside at Wachapreague Cemetery Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Bob Smoot officiating.
