Fay Reynolds Doughty, 92, wife of the late Clifford Doughty and a resident of Cheriton, VA, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Commonwealth Senior Living at the Eastern Shore in Onancock, VA. A native of Oyster, VA, she was the daughter of the late Risdon J. Reynolds and the late Abbie Jester Reynolds. She was retired from the family business as well as a retired Certified Nursing Assistant and a member of Travis Chapel United Methodist Church. Fay loved gardening, flowers, movies, antiques, and long rides with her granddaughter to go “junkin”. One of her favorite memories were of the “Reynolds Watel”, a seaside Watch House built by her father and brother.
She is survived by two daughters, Claudia D. Restein(Joe) of Cape Charles, VA, and Kelly D. Harrison(E.J.) of Capeville, VA; three grandchildren, Tracey Panzek, Jason Restein, and Brittany Harrison; six great grandchildren, Madeline Sequeira(Mario), McKenzie Silk, Justin M. Rhatigan, Juliet Restein, McKenna Rhatigan, and Bayleigh Rhatigan; a son-in-law, Jim Rhatigan(Jane); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cathy D. Rhatigan; two grandsons, Eric C. Rhatigan and Justin R. Rhatigan; brothers and sisters, Harvey, Dick, Buck, Alex, Floyd, Edith, Kathleen, and Elizabeth; and her longtime companion, “Tick” Heath.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 11:00AM at Cape Charles Cemetery with Reverend Jeff Conrow officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter, 6350 Center Drive, Suite #102, Norfolk, Virginia 23502.
