Fannie Belote

Fannie Helen Widgeon Belote, beloved wife the late Walter C. Belote, and a resident of Quinby, VA, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023.  Born March 10, 1933 in Oyster, VA, she was the daughter of William Thomas Widgeon and Katherine Eder Widgeon.

She was a loving, devoted and caring wife to her late husband who was bedridden for many long years with rheumatoid arthritis.  She loved her family dearly.  She loved a biscuit and beans which were a reflection of her childhood days being raised during the Depression Era.  Being content with what you had. May her memory be a blessing.

She is survived by her son Butch Belote (Peggy); daughters Rita Mears (Tommy) and Connie West (Jimmy) and Linda Parks (Jackie); seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Randolph Widgeon.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 2:00PM at Doughty Funeral Home.  Interment will be private.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
