Evelyn Bell Lewis

September 19, 1934 — February 22, 2016

Evelyn Bell Lewis, 81, wife of the late Richard David Lewis and a resident of Cheriton, VA, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Wachapreague, VA, she was the daughter of the late Southey "Sud" Bell and the late Nancy Thornton Bell.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy L. Fitchett and her companion, Scott Olivetto, of Eastville, VA, Nancy R. Lewis and her companion, Melvin Swift, of Cedarview, VA; a sister, Margaret Doughty of Welaka, FL; a brother, William Lipscomb of Birdsnest, VA; two granddaughters, Suzanne M. Henderson and her husband, Peter, of Bridgetown, VA, Alison Fitchett and her wife, Heather, of Norfolk, VA and two great grandchildren, Conner Henderson and Charlotte Henderson, both of Bridgetown. She was predeceased by two sons, Richard David Lewis, Jr., Carlton Wayne Lewis and a grandson, Ryan Mitchell Fitchett.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Cape Charles Cemetery with Mr. Barry Downing officiating. Family will join friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 6350 Center Dr., Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
