Ethel Robbins (View Video Tribute) Robinson

Ethel Robbins Robinson, 85, wife of the late William Thomas "Billy" Robinson and a resident of Machipongo, passed away Friday, August 7, 2009 at Heritage Hall Healthcare. A native of Birdsnest, she was the daughter of the late Henry M. and Sally Isdell Robbins. Mrs. Robinson retired from the Northampton County Public Schools where she was head baker and known for her cinnamon buns. She was a member of Johnson's United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Survivors include a daughter, Virgie R. Farlow and her husband Wayne of Machipongo; a niece, Mary Virginia Gurley and her husband Don of Hampton; three brothers, James Robbins of Kissimmie, FL., Kenny Robbins of Exmore, and Johnny Robbins of Chesconnessex; two grandchildren, William Todd Farlow of Machipongo and David Wayne Farlow and his wife Diane of Wardtown; a grand nephew, Don Gurley of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Jessica N. Farlow, Brittney M. Farlow, William Todd Farlow, Jr. and Grace Elizabeth Farlow. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Johnson's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home Sunday evening from 7 to 8:30.
