Ernest T. Wood, III

Ernest T. Wood III, 24, of Exmore, VA, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at his residence. A native of Exmore, he was the son of Mary M. Wood of Exmore and the late Robert T. Wood. He attended the Eastern Shore Vocational Center and participated in the Special Olympics Bowling event. Other than his mother, he is survived by a sister, Amanda Smith Perkins and husband, Stephen, of Exmore; one nephew, Elijah A.B. Smith, also of Exmore. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, the late Ernest T. Jr. and Beatrice Ward Wood and the late John and Mary Kathryn O'Neal. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at Exmore Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Carpenter officiating. A reception will follow the service.
