Emmett Eugene Sanford, Jr.

Emmett Eugene Sanford, Jr., 76, of Nassawadox, VA, formerly of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox. A native of Norfolk, VA, he was the son of the late Emmett E. Sanford and the late Lovelene Watkins Sanford. Mr. Sanford was a retired waterman and a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his former wife, Paige Sanford Carr of Nassawadox; three sons, Steve Sanford of Avon, NC, Mark Sanford and his wife, Ana, of Cheriton, VA and Dirk Sanford and his wife, Margaret, of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Channin, Bailey, Lauren, and Karleigh Sanford. A private family service will be held at a later date.
