Emma Hill Carpenter

Emma Hill Carpenter, better known as Sis, 85, a resident of Quinby, VA and the wife of the late Stanley William Carpenter, passed away Friday, January 19, 2007 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. Mrs. Carpenter was the daughter of the late Harry Hill, Sr. and the late Etta Steelman Hill. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #4856. Mrs. Carpenter is survived by four children, Robert Stanley Carpenter and his wife Juanita of Lenoir, NC, Mary Lou Horigan of Virginia Beach, VA, Wayne Lee Carpenter and his wife Norma of Quinby, and John Carroll Carpenter and his wife Pat of Yorktown, VA; one sister, Ruby Thomas of Atlantic, VA, twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, James C. Carpenter and two brothers, Harry Hill, Jr. and Leroy Hill. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 22, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with Pastor Tom Durrance officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery.
