Elta Green

Elta Ferebee Green, 95, and a resident of Onancock, VA, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Commonwealth Senior Living on the Eastern Shore. Born and raised on the Eastern Shore, she was the daughter of the late Dr. William T. Green, Jr. and the late Etna Moorehead Green. Elta held a Master’s Degree in Social Work and had worked for the University of Rochester.  She was also an active member of Naomi Makemie Presbyterian Church in Onancock.

Elta is survived by a brother-in-law, George S. Brown, Sr. of Virginia; three nephews, Sam Brown of Delaware, Mark Brown of Virginia, and Todd Brown of South Carolina; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia O. Brown.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 10, 2021, at 10:00AM at Naomi Makemie Presbyterian Church, 89 Market Street, Onancock, with Pastor Monica Gould officiating.  Interment will follow in Franktown Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Naomi Makemie Presbyterian Church, Post Office Box 397, Onancock, VA  23417.
