Ellen M. Svaty

Ellen M. Svaty, 99, wife of the late Martin A. Svaty and a resident of Quinby, Virginia, formerly of Ellsworth, Kansas, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, Virginia. A native of Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Annie Zelenka Belt. She was a homemaker and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by a daughter, Janet Wallace and her husband Lloyd of Quinby, Va.; a sister, Martha Bell of Salina, KS; a sister-in-law, Lucille Svaty of Ellsworth, KS; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lorene Foster, eight sisters and brothers, Elise Urbanek, Ruby Svaty, Elmer, Orval, Walter, and Gordon Belt, Annie Fox, Bernice Eatherton. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 22, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at the Doughty Funeral Home with the Rev. Sallye E. H. Bowen officiating. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ellsworth Cemetery in Ellsworth, Kansas.
