Edward Dewey Williams, 92, of Melfa, VA, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at his residence. A native of Machipongo, VA, he was the son of the late Dewey and Ampire Belda Williams. After retiring from Miller Chemical Company and Libby Foods, he hosted the Big Band program at WESR radio station for 42 years. He was a member of the Exmore Moose Lodge #683, past Commander of the American Legion, and a charter member of the Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club. He is survived by a daughter, Dana W. Carpenter and her husband Barry of Chesapeake, VA; a brother, Charles Williams and his wife Deanie of Onancock; a sister, Ann Scott of Onancock, VA; a grandson, James Chandler III of New Mexico; and numerous nephews. Mr. Williams was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Massey. A service of remembrance will be held at the Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore, Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Kenneth Heath officiating. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to S.P.C.A. Animal Shelter, P.O.
