Edmund M. Bedsworth Sr.

Edmund McDaniel Bedsworth Sr., 73, husband of Sally Black Bedsworth and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 at his residence. A native of Exmore, he was the son of the late William Leonard Bedsworth and the late Marie Turner Bedsworth. He was the assistant plant engineer of the frozen foods plant in Exmore until its close in 1980 and then was a traffic signal technician for VDOT until his retirement in 2008. Mr. Bedsworth was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Past Master of Broadwater Masonic Lodge #71 AF & AM, Northampton Chapter #2, and the Exmore Moose Lodge #683. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Nancy Carol Bishop and her husband Charles of Troy, VA, and Edmund M. Bedsworth Jr. and his partner, D. Lawrence Tarazano of Alexandria, VA; a sister, Marie B. Old of Chesapeake, VA; two brothers, Harry Leonard Bedsworth and his wife Dolores of Delray Beach, FL, and Everette J. Bedsworth and his wife Marilyn of Cowpens, SC. He was predeceased by a sister, Emily B. Simms. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Epworth United Methodist Church with Pastor L.Raymond McGarr officiating.
