E.B. Mears

Edward Bruce Mears, Jr. 62, a resident of New Church, VA, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, at his home. A native of New Church, he was the son of the late Edward Bruce Mears and the late Jolena Hopkins Mears. E.B. was a carpenter for Cartwright Construction and a musician who played at Secrets.

He is survived by two children, Elaine Brooke Stanley-Smith and her husband, Justin of Alberta, Canada, and Hunter Gabrielle Gurel and her husband, Dallas, of Alberta, Canada; four grandchildren, Ryley Mears, Nolan Stanley-Smith, Zoey Stanley-Smith and Kade Gurel; two brothers, Darryl Mears of MI and Tony Mears of Willis Wharf, VA.

A tribute and celebration of life service will be held, Sunday, December 12, 2021, from 1 to 4 PM at the Bloxom Fire Company, 15312 Bayside Drive, Bloxom with Mr. Bobby Blankenship officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Riverside Shore Cancer Center, Post Office Box 430, Onancock, VA  23417.
