Duncan W. Barnes

Duncan Wood Barnes, 92, husband of the late Eunice McRoberts Barnes and a resident of Painter passed away Tuesday February 28, 2006 at his residence. A native of Leemont, Va., he was the son of the late Clifford Barnes and the late Florence Parks Barnes. Mr. Barnes retired from the Department of U.S. Customs and was a U.S. Marine veteran. Survivors include three children, Nancy M. Barnes of Eugene, Oregon, Jayanne Barnes and Phillip E. Barnes both of Painter, Va., a sister, Elizabeth Ann Barnes of Onancock, Va., numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Barnes was predeceased by a son, Duncan W. "Woody" Barnes, Jr. and a brother Clifford Lee Barnes. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 3, 2006 at 11:00 AM from the graveside of the Parksley Cemetery with the Rev.
