Douglas Ward

Douglas E. Ward was born August 14, 1942 in Portsmouth, VA, to the late Golden E. Ward, Jr. and Doris Ames Ward and has lived in Glen Burnie, MD, since 1960. In his career Doug worked as a blue print composer for RKK Engineering where he worked for 37 years. He attended Chincoteague High School before graduating from Glen Burnie High School in 1962. He was extremely active in Glen Burnie Methodist Church where he was a youth leader, past treasurer of the Methodist Men and he was named Methodist Man of the Year. Doug also enjoyed studying the history of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, watching old Westerns, country western music, trips to Chincoteague, VA, mall walking and following the Orioles.

He is survived by his sister Barbara Ward Clouspy and her husband, Greg, Owings Mills, MD; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, February 1, 2019, at 12:30 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Reverend Mikang Kim officiating. Family will join friends at Doughty Funeral Home Friday morning from 10 til 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company, Post Office Box 691, Chincoteague Island, VA 23336.
