Dorothy Spurley Sturgis

Dorothy Spurley Sturgis, 92, wife of the late Harry H. Sturgis and a resident of Concord Wharf, VA, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008 at Shore Memorial Hospital. A native of Leemont, VA, she was the daughter of the late William Spurley and the late Ethel Taylor Spurley. She retired from Gregg-Harriet Shirt Factory. Mrs. Sturgis is survived by a nephew, Tye Meyers and his wife, Cindy, of London, KY; and a niece, Barbara Spurley Fisher and her husband, Philip, of Sanford, VA; and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruby Spurley Meyers. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 AM from the graveside of Belle Haven Cemetery with the Rev. Jack D. Pruitt officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
