Dorothy Marie Bradford
April 29, 1927 — March 10, 2016
Dorothy Marie Bradford, 88, wife of the late Ralph Gooner and the late William Bradford and a resident of Accomac, VA, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Hermitage on the Eastern Shore in Onancock, VA. A native of Tasley, VA, she was the daughter of the late Fuller Crockett and the late Ruth Davis Crockett. She was raised in Tasley by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Davis as her parents both died when she was one year old. She said she never lacked for parents as they thought as much of her as they did their own children. She went to live at the Hermitage in 2011; and often said that they were all nice to her there. She was known as a kidder in a nice way and never to hurt feelings.
She is survived by a son, Richard Gooner of Athens, GA; a very special cousin, Gloria Godsey and her husband, Red, of Accomac and numerous other cousins. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by five uncles and an aunt.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Hermitage on the Eastern Shore with Pastor Robert Fletcher officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to S.P.C.A. Animal Shelter, Post Office Box 164, Onley, VA 23418 or Drummondtown United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 267, Accomac, VA 23301.
