Diane Rasmussen

E. Diane Rasmussen, 65, of Parksley, VA, was called home on April 16, 2018. Born in Hollywood, FL, September 3, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Roy Rexford and Lizzy Mae Yates Rexford. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances and Roberta Rexford, and brothers, Donald and Mikel Rexford.

Diane was a retired home health aide that took pride in taking care of others. She enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, taking a trip to the casino, coloring, and playing games on the computer. Diane enjoyed daily chats with her dear friend, Winnie, at Accomack Manor. She was always willing to listen and help anyone in need. Diane loved watching sporting events that her grandchildren participated in and bragged about their accomplishments to anyone that would listen.

Diane is survived by her loving children, Thomas E. Rasmussen of Hacksneck, VA, Tracey Rasmussen and fiancé, Dwayne Fluhart, of Keller, VA, Kathryn R. Hall and husband, George, of Onancock, VA, Elizabeth Rasmussen of Craddockville, VA, and Holly R. McAuliffe and husband, Greg, of Onancock; grandchildren, Branden Rasmussen, Alixandria Rasmussen, Arian Riggin, Ashley Fluhart, Thomas E. Rasmussen, Stephen Hall, Dustin Fluhart, Kathleen McAuliffe, Allison McAuliffe, Damien Rasmussen, and Darian Brown; and great-granddaughter, Kailee Rasmussen. Diane is also survived by her brother, John Rexford and his wife, Pat, of Vero Beach, FL; nephews, Jonathan and Richard Rexford; nieces, Shelly Rexford, Sonya Burghoff, and Felicia Murphy; and 9 great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Rock Church of the Eastern Shore with Pastor Paul Nolz officiating. Interment will be private in Belle Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA Eastern Shore, Inc., P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418.
