David Lee Moore, Sr.

David Lee Moore,Sr., 73, husband of Kay Simpson Moore and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at his residence. A native of Eastville, VA, he was the son of the late William F. Moore and the late Louise Trader Moore. He was a retired VDOT Inspector for Virginia Department of Transportation with 35 years of service and employed by R.K. & K. Consultants for five years, a member of Exmore Baptist Church, an avid fisherman and hunter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, David Lee Moore, Jr. and his wife, Bettie, of Exmore, Terry E. Moore of Onley, VA, Beverly Kay Drummond and her husband, Earl, of Pungoteague, VA, Matthew V. Moore of Exmore; two sisters, Mary Louise Burford of California, Laura Etta Andrews and her husband, Bill, of Coeur d'Alene, ID; a brother, Donald Moore and his wife, Cathy, of Toano, VA; and four grandchildren, Hugh Daniel Corbin of Maryland, Sarah Nicole Corbin of Wattsville, VA, William Christopher Moore of Virginia Beach, VA and Matthew Neil Moore of Dover, DE.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Jonathan Carpenter and Mr. Kemmie Dize officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Shore Cancer Center, PO Box 17, Nassawadox, VA 23413 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market Street, Suite #3, Onancock, VA 23417.
