David Lee Hughes

December 20, 1966 — February 12, 2015

David Lee Hughes, 48, fiancé of Julie Herbert and a resident of Cape Charles, VA, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015 at his residence. A native of Fairview, VA, he was the son of Carolyn Jean Kellam White of Fairview and the late Virgil Lee Hughes.

In addition to his fiancée, he is survived by his former wife, Tina Hughes of Nassawadox, VA; three children, Christine H. Medlock and her husband, Jason, of Birdsnest, VA, Sherry Hughes of Nassawadox, Linda Bell and her husband, Andrew, of Melfa, VA; two sisters, Melissa White-Smith of Exmore, VA, Tonya White and her husband, Shawn Dunaway, of Charlottesville, VA; and five grandchildren, Viktoria Lillith Lee Berns, Aydan Scott Anthony Hughes, Kaylee Monica Jean Hughes, William Charles Knitter and Ellie Rae Bell.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Melissa White-Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to American Heart Association, c/o Mr. Tom Rienerth, 12 King Street, Onancock, VA 23417.
