David Lee Deyerle, 94, husband of the late Talitha Kelly Murray Deyerle and the late Juanita Ruth Murray Deyerle, a resident of Eastville, VA, formerly of Roanoke, VA, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Roanoke, he was the son of the late J. B. Deyerle and the late Mary Kaetzel Deyerle. He was a World War II veteran of the 7th Air Force which included four campaigns in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He retired from V.D.O.T. as a survey party supervisor with 35 years of service.
He is survived by a daughter, Juanita D. Brown and her husband, Walter III, of Eastville; two step-daughters, Rita M. Chocklett and her husband, Jerry; Rhonda M. Lyster and her husband, Ronney; a sister, Betty Ann Bryant of Vinton, VA; a grandson, Gary W. Brown and his wife, Annette, of Eastville; two great grandchildren, Jenna Brown and Joseph Brown, both of Eastville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Burial Park, 1307 Summit Ave SW, Roanoke, with Pastor Jesse Moffitt officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Northampton Baptist Church, c/o Annette M. Brown, 5425 Tyson Circle, Cape Charles, Virginia 23310.
