Conway Stevens

Conway Stevens, 91, husband of Georgie Mae Saunders Stevens and a resident of Keller, VA, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at his residence. A native of Keller, he was the son of the late Andrew Stevens and the late Mary Elizabeth Mears Stevens. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in World War II, Japan and the Phillipines. He was the retired owner of Stevens Grocery, a school bus driver for Accomack County Public Schools, former Deacon and member of Hollies Baptist Church, and former member of the Keller Town Council for over fifty years. In addition to his wife of 66 years, he is survived by two sons, David C. Stevens and his wife, Jane, of Leemont, VA, Michael Trent Stevens and his wife, Cindy, of Mears, VA; one granddaughter, April Stevens, and two-great grandsons. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Hollies Baptist Church with Reverends Joe McKnight, Bob Smoot, and Jack D. Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Hollies Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will join friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
