Clay Ora Gill

Clay Ora Gill, 55, husband of Christal Perry Gill and a resident of Melfa, VA, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Galatia, IL, he was the son of the late Andrew Ora Gill and the late Mary D. Gill and the adopted son of the late Fred Heflin and the late Pat Heflin. He was a stock clerk for Roses Department Store, member of the Army National Guard and enjoyed gardening and fishing.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by ten children, Dallas Gill, Trisha Hinderliter, Jami Burgess, Ruthann Gill, and Sarah Gill, all of Illinois, Gary Scott Perry, Lashae Ervin, Joshua Ervin, Nateisha Ervin and Amy Ervin, all of Melfa; two sisters, Edna Duncan and Diane Greer, both of Illinois; a brother, Bob Heflin of Illinois and eleven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Doughty Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery. Family will join friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
