Claudia Stewart Custis

Claudia Stewart Custis, 98, wife of the late Winston J, "Dynamite" Custis, Sr. and a resident of Belle Haven, VA, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. A native of Jamesville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Claude B. Stewart and the late Susan James Stewart. Mrs. Custis was a member of Belle Haven United Methodist Church. She is survived by two children, Susan C. Prettyman and her husband, Jimmy, of Silver Beach, VA, Winston J. Custis, Jr. of Belle Haven; four grandchildren, Graham Stewart Custis of Belle Haven, Addison Trower Custis and his wife, Sara, of Belle Haven, Jay Prettyman of Norfolk, VA, Lee Prettyman of Florida; one great grandson, Kevin Prettyman of Silver Beach; one niece, Diane Stewart of Stewarts Wharf, VA and two nephews, James M. Stewart, Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Winchester, VA and T. Blair Stewart of Stewarts Wharf. She was predeceased by a grandson, David Steve Slaw, III. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverends Judith Worthington and Jack D. Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Belle Haven United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 37, Belle Haven, VA 23306.
