Clarence Lee Bundick

Mr. Clarence Lee Bundick, 84, a resident of Exmore, Virginia passed away Sunday, May 31, 2009 at his residence. A native of Hacksneck, he was the son of the late Hampton Kidd Bundick and the late Mary Bonniwell Bundick Guy. Mr. Bundick retired from the United States Coast Guard as a First Class Quartermaster and served in WW II. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist where he served as Past President of the Wesley Fellowship Class, Past Chairman of Church Education, Past Chairman of the Homecoming Picinic. He was Past President of the Little Pungo Ruritans, Life Member of the V.F.W. Post #4856, Life Member of D.A.V. Chapter #41 Cradock, Virginia, Past Post Commander of D.A.V. Chapter #51 Eastern Shore, Past Senior Vice Commander of the Department of Virginia D.A.V., Past Chairman Legislation Department, Past Chairman of Membership Committee Department of Virginia D.A.V., and Chairman of the War Memorial of Accomack County. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Sue Nicholson Bundick; two children, Gwen Bundick Phillips of Willis Wharf, Va., Patti Bundick Powell and her husband Dennis of Kent Island, Md.; two nieces, Gloria Jones Doughty and her husband Bradley of Exmore, Va., Vanessa Jones Clark and her husband Mark of Onley, Va.; an aunt, Margaret Nordstrom Simpson of Monroe, N.C.; a step-sister, Eleanor Shannonhouse of Eastville, Va.; four grandchildren, Dawn Sullivan and her husband Mark of Portland, Tx., Corinne Phillips Snead of Willis Wharf, Va., Heath R. Powell and his wife Disa of Duncan, Ok., Nathan Lee Powell and his wife Pam of Hanover, Pa.; ten great grandchildren, Kania, Trey, Abbie, Emily, Jacob, Cory, Kane, Natalie, Aden, and Creed. He was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Bundick Jones and a son-in-law, Buddy Phillips. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 5, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. from the Doughty Funeral Home with the Revs. Kemper and June Charnock officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery with Military Honors. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Asbury Sunday School Class, c/o Epworth United Methodist Church, P.O.
