Cindy Carpenter Matthews

Cindy Carpenter Matthews, 48, wife of Douglas S. Matthews and a resident of Onley, VA, passed away Monday, September 17, 2007 at Shore Memorial Hospital. A native of Belle Haven, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Carpenter and the late Margaret Jones Carpenter. She was employed by Shore Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse and was a member of Market Street United Methodist Church. Other than her husband, she is survived by four children, Lauren Matthews and Jeremy Bonniwell, both of Onley, April Brown of Yokota, Japan, and Kelly Matthews of Townsend, VA; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Market Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. W. Douglas Tanner, Rev. Robert L. Smoot, and Rev. Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
