Christy Shirey

With a heart heavy with grief, I announce the passing of my beloved wife, Christy Plotner Shirey, on November 8, 2024, at the age of 51. Christy was born in Pennsylvania on May 28, 1973, to Robert and Terry Plotner. She lived in Melbourne, Florida, and different parts of Michigan before she called Pungoteague home. At the time of her death, she was packing to move back to Michigan. Christy surrounded her day with animals of all kinds, although she favored dogs, especially her cattle dogs. Christy was truly creative, always putting together different pieces to create something unique.

Christy is survived by her husband, David, her parents, Terry and Robert Plotner of Wachapreague, Virginia, and her younger brother, Shawn of Melbourne, Florida.

A celebration of her life will be held in Michigan at a later date.
