Charlye Faye Kennerly Holland Parsons of Westminster Canterbury at Virginia Beach and "Arlington" in Northampton County, Va., died Tuesday, July 10, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. She was the widow of George Francis "Tix" Parsons. They were married for 42 years before his death in 1996. A native of Statesville, N.C., she moved to the Eastern Shore of Virginia in 1942 and lived at "Arlington" on Old Plantation Creek since 1953. She was a longtime member of The Garden Club of the Eastern Shore, The Garden Club of Virginia and the First Presbyterian Church of Cape Charles. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her first husband, Forrest Houpe "Dixie" Holland, in 1946; a newborn daughter, Joan Kennerly Holland, in 1943; parents, Charles Othniel and Ella Poston Kennerly; sister, Beatrice Kennerly Cashion; brothers, Thomas Cowan Kennerly and Fred McPherson Kennerly. Survivors include a sister, Betty Kennerly Medlin of Newton, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Betty Hancock Kennerly of Davidson, N.C.; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at "Arlington" on Friday, July 13, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, July 14, at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holmes Presbyterian Church, P.O.
